Sottano is one of many family businesses in Argentina founded by Italian immigrants. The founder was Don Fioravante Sottano, who left his native land in Veneto in 1890 to settle in Mendoza. He already had a good knowledge of viticulture when he came, and he was one of the pioneers of viticulture in Mendoza, where he was able to make the most of his skills. He planted his own vineyards, set up a wine company and also focused on exports. This was an example for many others in the region. His son Migual Sottano followed in his father's footsteps and increased production to 20 million litres of wine per year. He ignited his sons with the wine virus, and now the brothers Diego, Pablo and Mauricio Sottano are fully active in the company. However, they opted for absolute quality. In addition, they reduced the company's production capacity to 500,000 bottles. They modernized the basement and put down smaller tanks of stainless steel for fermentation. For example, wines can be made in all possible quantities: 25,000 litres, 20,000 litres, 10,000 litres, 5,000 litres and 2,500 litres, all in stainless steel. With this, the fruit plot for plot can be fermented. Ideal for making the best selections. With this, the wines have reached an unprecedentedly high level.
