A supple and rewarding Pomerol that entices for another sip.

Quantity: 60

Château Prieurs de la Commanderie is a minute 750 case production from the stable of Château Fayat. This property is owned by one of the most prosperous and renowned families in FRance. Having made their fortune in the construction industry, they have now invested millions in their portfolio of Chateaux La Dominique (Saint Emilion Grand Cru Classé), Fatat (Pomerol), and Clément Pichon (Haut Médoc). Situated on the fresh gravel soils and burying into a deep subsoil of the clay that gives Pomerol its inimitable style, Prieurs de la Commanderie is a wine to be discovered in recent vintages. Jean Luc Thunevin, a close friend of Clément Fayat has exploiteda partnership upon one of the other Fayat properties, and his influence and expertise in their winemaking has been said to be immeasurable.

Clement Fayat set up his construction business in the 1950's. Having grown it to the 4th largest in its sector (just behind Bouygues-owners of Chateau Montrose) he decided to follow his passion and began to invest in properties in Bordeaux. Alover of Pomerol, he purchased Prieurs de la Commanderie in 1984 and has begun to archieve the potential quality that rough diamond always promised.

The wine has dusty garnet color. Aroma's and flavors of mocha, toasty pistachio, and berry tart with a supple, bright, medium-to-full body and a seamless, capivating, medium-long finish that shows suggestions of chocolate cherries and orange peel, cocoa powder, vanilla nuts, delicate spices and cedar with silky soft, dusty tannins and light oak flavor.
