Marie-Noëlle & Laurent Ternynck have been making impressive wines for 20 years at their small Domaine de Mauperthuis, which is 8km south of Chablis. Recently they also bought vineyards in Chablis – Domaine des Marronniers – in order to complete the range of appellatations from this region with wines from Chablis.
Laurent & Marie-Noëlle can make both white and red wines, something you rarely see on the northern border of Burgundy. They stick to smaller yields, use natural yeasts for fermentation, treat their grapes with great care and are very moderate with the use of sulphites. All this in order to reinforce their philosophy of 'working with respect for the terroir and the environment'. The Ternyncks mainly work on minerality in their wines, an aspect that can be expected in this part of Burgundy.
