The history of Maison Régnard goes back to 1860, but in 1984 Baron Patrick de Ladoucette became the owner. The winery owns the most Grands Crus and Premiers Crus of all chablis. There are many Premiers crus in the Chablis, but there are only seven Grand Crus in all of Chablis and all seven are from the Régnard winery (Les Clos, Bougros, Blanchots, Grenouilles, Preuses, Valmur and Vaudésir), the 5 main Premiers Crus (Fourchaume, Montmains, Vaillons, Montée de Tonnerre and Mont de Midden), Chablis, Petit Chablis.
Chablis is surely the ultimate comfort zone of the Chardonnay. That's because he thrives here in a perfect terroir with a perfectly suitable microclimate and a soil full of lime.
The grapes come from our own vineyards and undergo a careful selection. The grapes are picked by hand, after which a 12-month ripening on the lie.
The color is light golden yellow with green sparkles. The smell is intense and refined. Aromas of tropical fruit, apple, white peach, slightly notey and notes of elegant citrus. The taste is excellently fresh and nicely balanced with lots of fruit, but also mineral and citrus hints. Excellent with fish dishes, seafood and oysters!
